Long term unemployed youth and unemployed youth without working experience, and/or low levels of skills.

Project objective

The overall project objective is to contribute to reduction of youth unemployment in Brod Posavina County.

The specific objective of the project is design and implementation of an integrated system for consistent and systematic youth development and active employment measures in relation to market needs and trends, and in line with regional business needs and requirements.

Main activities

  1. Development of local youth active labour market – development of partnership and business cooperation between the business sector (Croatian Chamber of Economy, Croatian Chamber of Crafts, companies, crafts), employment institutions (Croatian Employment Service), educational institutions (Electrotechnical school Nova Gradiška, Industrial school Nova Gradiška), local and regional authorities (City of Nova Gradiška, Brod Posavina County). Development of Local labour market information system and portal development.
  2. Training service development - Training curricula preparation; 90 trainees attend and successfully complete customised training program (CNC metal processing – 120 hours – 32 trainees, CNC programming – 120 hours – 10 trainees, Training in Measurement techniques - 120 hours - 10 trainees, IT: Web-designer – 120 hours – 12 trainees, System and Network administrator - 240 hours – 12 trainees, Entrepreneurship training – 20 hours – 15 trainees); Evaluation and Certification.
  3. Job Club Design and development - special workshops and guidance in intensive process of finding job (12-week programme) aimed at strengthening of self-confidence, preparation of individual career plan, find work and/or start a new career, finish or continue education programmes.
  4. Youth entrepreneurship promotion activities - youth entrepreneurship promotion activities in Technical schools and Faculty, Business incubator services support for youth entrepreneurs.
  5. 5Youth Employment System roll out and promotion activities; conference, direct promotion, overall promotion activities.
  6. Project management activities – project implementation requires professional project management with developed detailed methodology and secured mechanisms for quality assurance: develop and apply internal communication policies and project management files; develop and apply quality assurance procedures; planning and coordination meetings.

The project should produce the following results

  1. Developed local youth active labour market network
  2. Training service developed – 90 trainees have been trained for work on new technologies and entrepreneurship
  3. Job club is designed and developed - a number of trainees have been employed (72) and/or improve its employability and working prospects (18)
  4. Youth entrepreneurship is actively supported
